Dr. Dambar Chemjong is an anthropologist. He attended Dhankuta Multiple Campus to pursue his I.A. and B.A. He earned a Ph.D. from Cornell University in New York, USA, an M.Phil. from Bergen University in Norway, and an M.A. in Anthropology from Tribhuvan University's Central Campus.

After working in the government civil service for ten years (1981–1991) and teaching in elementary schools for three years (1978–1981), Dr. Chemjong spent twenty-eight years (1996–2024) teaching at Tribhuvan University's Central Department of Anthropology. From August 2018 to September 2023, he headed the Central Department of Anthropology and chaired Tribhuvan University's Anthropology Subject Committee. He also served on the Constituent Assembly Constituency Delimitation Commission, established by the Nepali government for the 2063 and 2069 Constituent Assembly Elections.

Role and Responsibilities

As the Registrar of Vidushi Yogamaya Himalayan Ayurveda University, Dr. Chemjong is responsible for carrying out administrative tasks associated with the university's faculty and staff, as well as managing the university's finances, accounting, and audit processes.

• To formulate and implement internal administrative plans, regulations, and policies.
• To develop and execute strategies related to financial management.
• To oversee the operation, maintenance, and safeguarding of university assets.
• To prepare income and expenditure estimates for the university.
• To manage, control, and supervise university examinations.
• To carry out tasks as directed by the Vice-Chancellor and Executive Council.
